China released a new five-year plan for its auto industry. The goal is to make new energy vehicles account for 70 percent of new passenger car sales by 2030.
The plan also supports large-scale use of intelligent connected EVs. Highly automated driving will be available on highways and some urban roads.
China has kept the world’s top position in NEV production and sales for 11 straight years. The government will continue to promote battery innovation, charging infrastructure and smart vehicle technology to speed up the country’s green transport transition.
