China’s new-energy vehicle exports jumped 130 percent year-on-year in the first three quarters of 2026. In this period, China produced 12.483 million NEVs and sold 12.472 million units domestically. NEVs accounted for 53.6 percent of all new cars sold in China.
Chinese automakers are shifting their advantage from low prices to complete technological strengths, including self-developed batteries, intelligent driving and full industrial chains. A large number of electric cars are shipped from Chinese ports to Europe, Southeast Asia and Latin America every month.
Industry analysts say China has become the world’s largest NEV exporter. The strong overseas growth is supported by stable supply chains and improved product quality.
